IMPROVE CHILD QUALITY OF LIFE DURING CHEMOTHERAPY AND TREATMENT

Central Venous Catheter
Cancer treatment is quite prolonged, requiring frequent blood tests, repeated injections to administer medication, chemotherapy, nutritional fluids, intravenous fluids and blood products. Means many procedures involving needles, so this may be the child’s most feared part of having cancer for a kid.
Most children with cancer need a central venous catheter to avoid multiple painful skin pricks, but some parents don’t get a central line for their kids due to lack of awareness or inability to Afford one.
We at Gold Ribbon CanKids Support Society understand how difficult Cancer can be for a child. We work with doctors and motivate parents 'how a central line' would help child and improve quality of life during chemotherapy. Provide guidance on how to maintain central line for the through out the treatment. Also Sponsor and cover the expenses for who can't afford one.
What is Central Line?
A central line (also called a central venous catheter) is like an intravenous (IV) line. But it is much longer than a regular IV and goes all the way up to a vein near the heart or just inside the heart. A child can get medicine, fluids, blood, or nutrition through a central line. It also can be used to draw blood.

Free Leukocyte filters to Thalassemic and hemato-oncology pediatric patients
There is a requirement of 8.5-9 million units of blood in our country annually, and this includes the existing Thalassemic population requiring regular transfusions and the rapidly growing size of the hemato-oncology patients requiring different types of blood component support. A majority of them become alloimmune to various red blood cell, platelet, and HLA antigens during the course of their transfusion therapy. This leads to various immunohematological problems in managing the blood component support to these patients, especially the platelet transfusion support in refractory patients. Therefore, transfusion of leukoreduced blood components assumes a lot of significance in these patients.
